• Marygrove Conservancy

    A multi-phase redevelopment of a previous college campus serving Detroit, Michigan students from pre-school through post-secondary education. The campus redevelopment has included the new construction of an exemplar Early Childhood Education Center, the historic rehabilitation of two main campus buildings for use by the Detroit Public Schools. These were financed with a combination of New Markets Tax Credits, Historic Credits and capital support from the Kresge Foundation.*

  • Green Current Technology

    A for-profit company founded by two environmentalists who wanted to turn their acclaimed efforts to remove plastics from Midwest rivers into a venture that used those reclaimed and other plastics to produce pallets for industrial. The project created jobs and economic activity in their hometown of Rock Island, Illinois. They used a combination of private financing as well as state and federal New Markets Tax Credit to finance the acquisition, construction and equipment.*

    The Springfield, Illinois-based Economic Growth Corporation sponsored the redevelopment of a formerly vacant Church building into a mixed-use building with 25 units of housing and commercial office space, including the headquarters of two, local nonprofit organizations. The project's financing required the use of New Markets Tax Credits, Federal Historic Tax Credits, State Donation Tax Credits, Tax Increment Financing and private debt.*
